- 309th SMXG/ 517SMXS/MXDED/ PZIMC intends to issue a sole source contract to purchase all hardware equipment and software, instructions, and licenses to the contractor (Redondo Systems) which will provide (1) Radar/Data Link simulator system #610127. The 520th Software Maintenance Squadron (SMXS) has been tasked with future maintenance of the Battle Control System - Fixed (BCS-F) in setting up an Integrated Test Facility (ITF) at Hill AFB to test future software builds prior to deployment to the field. Notice of Intent to award a Sole Source Procurement in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The Government intends to issue a sole source contract to the contractor (Redondo Systems) will provide (1) Radar/Data Link simulator system #610127, contracting by Negotiation. The solicitation will posted at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/ under solicitation number FA8224-12-R-0037 on or around September 4, 2012. This requirement is considered sole source due to the ITF needs to be identical to a functioning BCS-F (noun: AN/FYQ-156) Air Defense Sector (ADS) to insure proper testing of the system software. The NAICS code for this requirement is 541512 (Computer Systems Design Services) with a small business size standard of $25.5 million. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals and all other interested contractors shall submit a capabilities document which states their abilities on fulfilling this requirement. Responses should be submitted by 10:00 am MST on September 4, 2012.
