Description
The U.S. Army Contracting Command - New Jersey (ACC-NJ), on behalf of Project Manager Soldier Weapons, awarded a Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Full and Open Competition (F&OC), base plus five option periods contract W15QKN-12-C-0103 to Kongsberg Defence and Aerospace (KDA). This contract will be for the manufacturing of M153 Common Remotely Operated Weapon Station (CROWS) systems and spare parts, and providing CROWS engineering support and logistics services that include but are not limited to, enhancements and integrations, field maintenance service, depot-level maintenance service, training, overhaul, reset, and recapitalization. The expected contract duration is five years and the total contract value is estimated at $970M. The contract was awarded on 17 August 2012. The CROWS is a multivehicle externally mounted weapon mounting and control system that allows the gunner to remain inside the vehicle protected by armor while firing a variety of crew served weapons. The CROWS provides remote day and night sighting and ballistic control capability, providing first-burst engagement of targets at maximum effective weapon range while on the move. The base contract awarded the following CLINs: CLIN 0007 - CROWS INITIAL FAT CLIN 0102 - ENGINEERING SUPPORT CLIN 0103 - MANPOWER REPORTING CLIN 0200 - CDRLS The total base contract award amount is $9,127,179.00.
