Description

SSJ This is a notice of intent to award a sole-source purchase order and is not a request for competitive proposals. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Office of Infectious Diseases (OID), National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (NCEZID), intends to solicit and enter into a contract with Illumina, Inc. 9885 Towne Center Dr, San Diego, CA 92121, The Government intends to solicit, negotiate and award to only one contractor using other than full and open competition procedures pursuant to the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). The NAICS code for this acquisition is 334516 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. This requirement will be procured under the guidelines of FAR Part 12, Commercial Items. The vendor will provide DNA sequencing reagents for the Illumina LLX sequencing platform already in use. There is no other vendor for these reagents since Illumina is the sole manufacturer of the sequencer and associated modules and is the only source for reagents that are compatible with the DNA sequencing platform already in use in the genomic sequencing laboratory. Interested parties who feel they possess the capabilities to provide the information described above should submit a capabilities statement demonstrating their ability to Pellumbeshe Hoxhaj by email at kfx2@cdc.gov. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, the Government shall consider all responses received within three (3) days of this posting. A determination by the CDC not to compete this proposed contract, based upon responses to this notification, is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
