Description

This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) page located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single entry point for posting of synopses and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to issue solicitation N0002413R4301 for the FY13 Drydock Selected Restricted Availability (DSRA) for the USS PROVIDENCE (SSN 719). The DSRA includes advance planning, engineering and design efforts, prefabrication, and shipyard execution work necessary to prepare and accomplish maintenance and modernization in support of the USS PROVIDENCE. The product of this DSRA is a repaired, mission-ready USS PROVIDENCE (SSN 719). It is anticipated that this will be a non-competitive procurement awarded to Electric Boat Corporation, a nuclear-qualified contractor, located at 75 Eastern Point Road in Groton, Connecticut (zip code 06340). Firms interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact Electric Boat Corporation directly. The DSRA is scheduled to last slightly less than six months. The DSRA will be performed in the floating dry-dock, SHIPPINGPORT, located at the Naval Submarine Base, New London, CT in the ship ™s homeport area of Groton, Connecticut. The solicitation will be issued in the early part of FY13 with a tentative date for receipt of the proposal within sixty (60) days of issuance of the solicitation. See Numbered Note 22.
