Description
This is a pre-solicitation notice for bio-waste disposal services. A Request for Proposal will be issued following this pre-solicitation notice. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this service is 562112, size standard is $12.5 million. This is a 100% set aside for Small Business. The contractor will pick-up, remove, transport and dispose of all biohazard/infectious waste in accordance with Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 321 and the State of Hawaii Administrative Rules, Title 11, Department of Health Chapter 104.1 (HAR 11-104.1), "Management and Disposal of Infectious Waste," current edition. The contractor will also disinfect the interior of solid waste receptacles regularly. The contractor must maintain a current State of Hawaii Solid Waste Permit as a Medical Waste/Foreign Waste Treatment Facility during the entire period of the contract. The contractor must also remain in compliance with all Federal, State and local D.O.T, Occupational Safety & Health, and Environmental regulations during the entire period of the contract. The contractor must submit a copy of the current, or any updated or renewed, State of Hawaii Solid Waste Permit to the VA. Contractor will provide a weekly service for VA facilities on Oahu and Kauai. Service for Kona and Maui will be every other week. The contractor will submit a contingency plan for actions to take if service for any facility can not be completed as agreed, but at no time will service on Kona and Maui be allowed to be extended more than 7 days from the normal scheduled Pick Up date.
