Description
Sole Source J&A - Sole Source Study The Federal Work Study Program announcement will be used to fill positions in multiple offices. All positions are located at Peace Corps Headquarters in Washington, D.C. Brief descriptions of each office can be found below. You will have an opportunity to identify the offices you are interested in during the application process on the 'applicant information' screen. - Contract Management: This office awards and administers Contracts, Interagency Agreements, Cooperative Agreements, Personal Service Contracts, and manages the Government wide Commercial Purchase Card. - Country Desk Units: These units oversee and support the operations of the field posts. Identify and implement programming and training initiatives, policies, goals and directions; and provision of personnel support to the field. - Financial/Budget: This office provides the financial planning, oversight and internal controls necessary to ensure that the Peace Corps operates in a fiscally sound manner while delivering financial services to Peace Corps domestic and overseas operations. - General Administrative Positions: These positions perform a variety of administrative and clerical duties. Plan and schedule meetings and appointments; organize and maintain paper and electronic files; manage projects; conduct research; and disseminate information via telephone, mail services, web sites, and e-mail. - Information Technology: This office develops, installs, and implements computer systems and applications. Provides IT solutions and technological support to the agency. - Medical Screening: This office evaluates Peace Corps and Peace Corps Response applicants. Identifies appropriate site placements for Applicants qualified with medical restrictions. Documents the pre-service medical status of all incoming Trainees. - Training Administration: This office supports overseas programming and training staff. Develops and delivers introductory, intermediate and advance staff development programs for overseas staff. - Volunteer Recruitment: This office works to attract applicants to Peace Corps by communicating, on many levels and through different media, the mission of Peace Corps and its programs to targeted U.S. citizens. Responsible for interviewing, selecting, and processing Peace Corps applicants. Both online and offline application assistance can be obtained by contacting the Avue Help Desk at 1-800-407-0147 or joeavue@avuetech.com or by clicking on the "TECHNICAL SUPPORT" button while working in the automated system. When completing your Avue application online, you will receive a pop-up warning message after 45 minutes. It is strongly recommended that you save your data often, and turn off your pop-up blocker in order to receive any system time-out warning. As a suggestion, you may want to compose your narrative information in a separate word document, and then copy and paste it into your Avue application. DUTIES: Performs a variety of duties as assigned, such as photocopying, faxing, collating reports, filing information. Performs various clerical and administrative tasks that result in an efficient, organized and timely service. Prepares reports from rough drafts, notes or oral instructions. Types correspondence, forms, and reports. Responsible for proper spelling, grammar, format and arrangement of material. Maintains the confidentiality of documents and correspondence in sound, confidential and professional manner. Screens telephone calls and obtains information to either provide accurate information or route the call to appropriate person. Assists in the preparation of correspondence, studies, and reports by abstracting readily accessible information from designated sources and compiling and assembling as required.
