Description
The 436th Contracting Squadron, Dover AFB, DE intends to award a sole source purchase order to American Science & Engineering, Inc. (AS&E) for a Domestic Parts & Labor Service Agreement (1-year), including Bumper to Bumper for a Z Backscatter Van X-ray Inspection System. Service agreement includes preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and bumper-to-bumper vehicle support. The current Z Backscatter Van X-ray System employed by Dover AFB is a proprietary product of AS&E due to their patented technologies. This purchase will be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures as authorized by FAR 13.106-1(b). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract lies solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive requirement. The closing date for this synopsis is 28 August 2012 at 12:00pm Eastern Standard Time. The anticipated award date is 7 September 2012. For information regarding this purchase, please contact Amy Burke at 302-677-3744 or Kazzandra Dexter at 302-677-5042. APPLICABILITY OF AUTHORITY: Request to award this requirement to only one responsible source, as American Science & Engineering only provides detailed schematics and proprietary system information to AS&E service personnel. In order to meet mission requirements, the 436 SFS requires the support/maintenance agreement to ensure system functionality and operability.
