Statement of Work Noise Control Workshop with The National Park Service Part U.S. Government Procurements Subpart Service Code Classification Code R- Professional Administrative Management Support Service Office Address DOT/RITA/Volpe National Transportation Systems Center, 55 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02142 Solicitation No. DTRT57-12-Q-80080 Response Date Aug. 27, 2012 POC Mike Rigby 617-494-3122 The United States Department of Transportation (DOT), Research and Innovative Technology Administration (RITA), Volpe National Transportation Systems Center (Volpe Center) in support of the National Park Service's (NPS) Natural Sounds and Night Skies Division, intends to solicit and award a sole source, firm-fixed price contract to the National Academy of Engineering for a Workshop on "Best Practices to Protecting the Natural Soundscapes of America's National Parks." The workshop is intended to bring together noise control experts from industry, manufacturing, and academia and park experts to identify best practices for minimizing noise emissions from park facilities, operations and maintenance activities. The Volpe Center seeks assistance for this initiative by administering a two day workshop which will build on build on the work from NAE's Technology for a Quieter America Report from 2010. The final deliverable shall be a summary report of the workshop. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals/quotes; however, the government will consider all responses received within 5 days of publication. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. All responses received within 5 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the government. The government will not pay for any documentation provided in response to this synopsis and documentation received will not be returned to the sender. Responses shall be submitted electronically to Michael.rigby@dot.gov concerning this acquisition.
