Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price contract, in accordance with FAR Part 13, using simplified acquisition procedures, to Kaiser Foundation Hospitals, Oakland, California. Kaiser appears to be the only organization that can provide the required study and are the owners of the requested information. No Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued based upon this Notice. Any interested companies are welcome to submit their credentials and ability to provide the services, via e-mail, esw2@cdc.gov. Include reference number (2012-Q-15159). See requirements below: • Determine the annual and combined rates of diagnosed congenital toxoplasmosis per 100,000 live births over the most recent 15 year period. • Determine the rates of diagnosed congenital toxoplasmosis by race/ethnicity and socioeconomic status if a sufficient number of cases are available for stratification. • Determine the number and rate of fetal deaths due to toxoplasmosis, if possible. • Using lab test results to inform the diagnosis, calculate rates of congenital toxoplasmosis and fetal deaths. • Examine the records of cases to find comments about risk factors, clinical factors, etc. Also, take note of patient of demographics at time of diagnosis, including residence. • Examine the numbers of specific Toxoplasma gondii tests done in the same period by age (or age group,that may give us an idea of the number of suspected cases). Deliverable: (1) Provide written summary of findings in Microsoft Word format including generalized information as described in the scope of work section above. Information should not include any patient-specific information but rather the numbers of cases, rates, etc. Minimum Vendor Qualification Vendor must have access to computerized databases for over 3 million persons over a minimum of a 15 year period. These databases must hold information regarding congenital toxoplasmosis diagnosed in infants < 1 (or 2) year(s) of age.
