- The following answers are provided in response to questions received since the Aug 20, 2012 FBO posting: Given 1: The Price/Cost Schedule lists the following: Line 0001AC, 30 cubic yard compactor LOCATION: Medical Waste Facility, Pick Ups to be made on Thursdays between 7:00 AM & 12:00 Noon 12.00 MO Question 1: The units provided are 12-months but the service is for pickups. Should the units be 52 since the compactor is picked up 1X/week, and should the unit of measure be Each to be consistent with the other pickups listed on the Price/Cost Schedule? A: You are correct. Amendment 0001 will be issued to correct the schedule. Given 2: 5.1.1.3. Medical Waste Facility Site #003: Government-Owned 30 Cubic Yard Compactor approximate number of pick-ups per month 5. Question 2: The VA released Amendment 001 on 8/17/12 with the following Q&A: Q: Are the compactors government owned or contractor provide? A: All equipment required for performance, to include compactors and containers, are to be supplied by the successful contractor. Is the compactor listed in Line 0001AC a government owned compactor and will it be replaced with a contractor owned compactor? The answer above would indicate the contractor will replace the government-owned compactor. A: The original answer given was incorrect. The Medical Waste Facility Site compactor is Government Owned and will remain; it is not be replaced. Only pickup is required. Given 3: 0001AD 12.00 MO Equipment Rental: 1 - 30 cubic yard compactor LOCATION: Behind Plumbing Shop Question 3: If the Contractor is supposed to supply the compactors located behind the Plumbing Shop (Line 0001AA) and at the Medical Waste Facility (Line 0001AC), there is only a line for the Plumbing Shop compactor rental (Line 0001AD). Should there be another line for the Medical Waste Facility compactor rental? A: The original answer given was incorrect. The Medical Waste Facility Site compactor is Government Owned and will remain; it is not be replaced. Only pickup is required. Given 4: 9.3 Large/Bulky Items: The Contractor shall not be required to pick up bulk items left near the containers. Bulk items could be trees, appliances, metal items, construction material, scrap equipment, etc. or any item that is larger than 1 cubic yard (CY). The Contractor shall provide containers, either 20 or 30 CY containers, as requested by the COR at locations, where in-house projects require on-going access to a container (s), where the VA may dispose of construction debris and bulk items. Contractor shall provide a one 30-cy container in the tunnel of the hospital for collection and recycling of scrap metal (ferrous and non-ferrous). This would include appliances, metal items, shelving, scrap equipment, etc. Question 4: Is there a line item on the Price/Cost Schedule that represents the 30-CuYd container for scrap metal? A: This service is not required. 9.3 will be deleted in its entirety from the Statement of Work in Amendment 0001. Question 5: Can we get the average tonnage for the Compactors per haul/Roll Offs Per haul. A: The information requested is not available.
