- The U.S. Census Bureau intends to negotiate, on an other than full and open basis, under the Authority of FAR Part 6, Subparts 6.301 and 6.302, with the National Academy of Sciences, for support of the Mapping Science Committee. This notice is not to be considered a request for quotations or proposals, rather interested parties may submit capabilities statement no later than 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time on September 7, 2012 to Jen Farmer, Contract Specialist, at Jennifer.M.Farmer@Census.gov. No contract will be awarded on the basis of capabilities statement received in response to this notice, but capabilities statements will be reviewed to determine if a comparable source is available and whether the comparable source is more advantageous to the Government. If no affirmative response is received within 15 days from the publication of this synopsis, a contract may be issued to the National Academy of Sciences.
