USDOJ/ FEDERAL BUREAU OF PRISONS FEDERAL MEDICAL CENTER CARSWELL FORT WORTH, TEXAS STATEMENT OF WORK FOR WINDOW REPLACEMENT AT STAFF HOUSING 1. INTRODUCTION 1.1 Description To purchase and replace all exterior windows with all necessary materials & component on 22 staff housing units located at buildings 3250 positioned at Desert Storm Road with 3251 and 3252 positioned at Liberator Street. Both streets are located next to FMC Carswell, J Street, Fort Worth Texas. The contractor and his/her contracted workers shall have limited supervised contact with inmates confined to this facility. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 ASTM E2112-07: Standard Practice for Installation of Exterior Windows, Doors and Skylights. 3. DESCRIPTION OF WORK 3.1 Contractor will install one hundred fifty single framed and 66 twin framed energy efficient windows on staff housing buildings 3250, 3251 and 3252. 3.2 The contractor will remove and dispose the existing windows currently in place at staff housing buildings 3250, 3251 and 3252. 3.3 Contractor will verify all measurements & window quantities prior to commencement of project. 3.4 The contractor will perform a site survey to determine the specific conditions that the project will face. The contractor will be responsible for ensuring the working area is prepared properly. 3.5 The contractor will submit all window specifications applicable to this project and shall be approved by the Facility Manager prior to installation. 3.6 Contractor will be responsible for the clean-up of all debris left over from the installation of all windows. 4. SPECIFICATIONS 4.1 All windows will be double hung. Window frame will be vinyl and color will be white. 4.2 All windows will be double glazed with the outer glass pane will be tinted coated & will be equipped with argon gas in between the glass panes. 4.3 Windows will comply with a high efficiency of Low-E (low-emittance) coating on glass at a U-factor minimum of 0.35. 4.4 The SHGC (Solar Gain Heat Coefficient) referring to the solar energy transmittance of a window will meet a minimum factor of 0.30 (30% of solar heat transmitted). 4.5 The VT (Visible Transmittance) of the windows shall meet a minimum value of 0.55. 5. QUALITY ASSURANCE 5.1 A qualified professional and /or project supervisor must be trained and should have at least one year experience on window installation. The workers should be trained and knowledgeable on safety and installation procedures for energy efficient windows. 5.2 All services associated with this project shall comply with Federal, State and Local Codes, A.B.A., Life Safety, NFPA, environmental regulations, seismic zone requirements and security regulations. 6. STAGING OF MATERIAL 6.1 The Federal Bureau of Prisons will provide an adequate staging and storing space for all Contractor supplied material and equipment for this project. 7. WARRANTY 7.1 The Contractor shall provide a warranty, signed by an authorized representative of the company, agreeing to replace or repair defective materials and workmanship for a period of one (15) years from final acceptance at no additional cost to the government. The warranty period shall commence upon notification of final acceptance by the Contracting Officer. END OF STATEMENT OF WORK August 17, 2012 A Site visit is scheduled for August 29, 2012 at 9:00 am CST for all interested quoters.
