Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY and a SOLICITATION IS NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. This notice is for information and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or an obligation on the part of the Government. This request for capability information does not constitute a request for proposals. Submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary. The government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred associated to this request for capability information. USDA, ARS, NADC is seeking a contractor to provide an Optima XPN-100 Ultracentrifuge, SW-41TI Rotor Package, and SW-32TI Rotor package. BRAND NAME EQUAL or better makes will be accepted for consideration, provided the following must-have minimum characteristics are met: 1) Ultracentrifuge compatible with Beckman Coulter L8-70M rotors 2) New rotors compatible with Beckman Coulter Optima LE series ultracentrifuges 3) Compatible with all currently produced Beckman Coulter floor preparative rotors, and designed and tested to work with existing network of Beckman Coulter rotors, tubes, and accessories. 4) Capable of utilizing HEPA filters for virus and dangerous sample research 5) Rotor recognition system to prevent installed rotors from operating above their rated speeds, and automatically lowers operating speed to approved rating if device set incorrectly 6) 1,000 - 100,000 rpm in 100 rpm increments 7) Maxiumum RCF: 802,000 x g 8) Up to 999 hours, 59 minutes, including hold runs, operation 9) Display remaining time in timed runs, time elapsed in hold runs, and estimated remaining time in w2t runs 10) 0 degrees to 40 degrees Celsius temperature range in 1 degree Celsius increments 11) Temperature control: ± 0.5 degrees Celsius of set temperature after equilibration (± 0.8 degrees Celsius when using SW-32 swinging bucket rotors) 12) Ambient temperature range: 10 degrees to 35 degrees Celsius 13) Accel/Decel: 10 accel profiles, 11 decel profiles including coast 14) Noise level (1m in front of instrument): no more than 50 dBa This sources sought request is being used as a means of conducting market research to identify parties having an interest in and the resources to provide the product(s) required. The result of this market research will contribute to determining whether there are adequate sources available from which to receive competitive proposals for this set aside. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code to be assigned to this procurement is 334516. Submission Instructions: Interested Businesses, with SAM records, who consider themselves qualified to provide the listed services are invited to submit a response to this Sources Sought Notice by 9:00 AM (Central Time) September 13, 2012. If your organization has the appropriate qualifications and capacity to provide these services, please provide a complete and current record of your Single Award Management (SAM) listing including DUNS number, Organization name, address, contact name, email address, Web site address, telephone number, type of organization, small business type (if any), etc. Potential sources only submit the minimum information necessary and no more than ten (10) pages. The SAM record does not count toward the 10 page maximum.
