Description
This is a SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS. This is in support of market research being conducted to identify capable potential sources and to establish if this requirement can be set-aside for small business or other socio-economic program set-asides. There is not a solicitation available at this time. The NAICS code for this requirement is 561730. The size standard is $7 Million employees. The FSC Code is S208. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District is getting ready to advertise a FFP commercial service solicitation for plant protector removal and pruning services at the Chumbley mitigation site located in Cowlitz County, Washington. The Contractor shall provide all materials, tools, equipment, and labor necessary to removal all plant protectors and associated fasteners. The plant protectors are 18-24 inches in height, and are fastened by 8-inch plastic cable ties. The contractor is responsible for the proper disposal of plant protectors, bamboo stakes, and associated fasteners offsite. The contractor shall also prune the broken branches and tree trunks that are damaged. The contractor shall use best practices when pruning trees. Approximately, there are 42,000 plant protectors to remove, and the Government estimates that at least ten percent (10%) of the trees will need to be pruned. The period of performance will be as soon as the contract is awarded-mid to early September 2012. Contractors responding to this shall submit the minimum following information to Kathryn Newhouse at Kathryn.A.Newhouse@usace.army.mil. IN ORDER TO RECEIVE A CONTRACT WITH THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE REGISTERED IN SAM - https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/. This is a new site. If your company was current in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR.Gov), your company should be registered in SAM. It takes about three (3) to five (5) business days to become registered in SAM.
