- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to award a sole source contract for Engineering Services to study feasibility of modifications to the MQ-4C Broad Area Maritime Surveillance Unmanned Aircraft System (BAMS UAS) that will support upgraded capabilities. Highly specialized engineering services to be provided under this tasking shall consist of engineering investigations, studies for enhancements of the inherent specialized components and their associated impacts throughout the current BAMS UAS design. All deliverables shall provide the government detailed notification of the necessary engineering, technical services and production modifications and tests of the likely forward fit and retrofit kit requirements. Details shall include sufficient cost, Information Assurance Security and TEMPEST impacts, Size Weight and Power (SWaP) analysis data, Air Vehicle dimensions, potential penetrations, wiring impacts, software and hardware system engineering impacts necessary to integrate (forward fit) common sensor/payloads into the BAMS UAS baseline aircraft. NAVAIR intends to award this effort sole source to the Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation. The Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the BAMS UAS, and as such, is the only known source available with the requisite technical knowledge and experience to provide the services described herein to satisfy the Government's requirement.
