Description

Specifications for Earthwork Demo Projects All the following questions were sent in by a contractor. 1. Will the base need to be backfilled and compacted, if yes, what are the specification for compaction and fill material? See attached specification. 2. If the basement is to be backfilled, can demolition debris be used and what is the size requirements for the crushed debris? No. Use the attached specification requirements for fill material. 3. Will any work be required in the street? All utility lines need to be capped at the mains, if the main is in the street then work in the street is required. 4. Is the sewer vault to be left in place? Needs to be left in place. 5. The asphalt paving at the chapel parking area will possibly be damaged, how should we address this cost as it is outside the scope of work? Contractor shall take precautions to not damage existing pavement. Contractor shall minimize usage of track equipment and use steel plates and such as necessary if such equipment is required. Footprint of demolition area shall be increased to include pavement that is damaged. Contractor shall sawcut, remove and replace any damaged pavement with decorative rock if needed. 6. Will we have to address the drainage issues that are outside the limits of construction we discussed in our site walk? No
