- Description
- Work includes, but is not limited to, providing all material, labor, and equipment necessary to install 2 100-ton chillers, 13 rooftop units, and 1 Building Automation System (BAS), and convert all pneumatic systems to digital direct control at the Main Office at 50 Brewery St., New Haven County, New Haven, Connecticut. The estimated cost of the work is between $1,000,000 and $2,500,000 with construction completion no later than two hundred seventy (270) calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. There will be a pre-proposal for this project held on September 12, 2012 beginning at 10:00 a.m. on site. Attendance is not mandatory but is strongly recommended. On-site visits may be arranged by contacting Richard Bryant, Manager, Maintenance, at (203) 782-7351. Technical inquires are to be addressed to Project Architect Evelyn Cole Smith of CME Associates, Inc. at (860) 928-7848 or USPS Project Manager Robert A. Giulietti at (860) 285-7176. This is not a formal invitation for bid; therefore, no bid bond or proposal guarantee is required. As part of the evaluation process, all offerors MUST SUBMIT a COMPANY HEALTH & SAFETY PLAN. Prior to award, the successful contractor will be required to submit a PROJECT SPECIFIC SAFETY PLAN acceptable to the USPS Contracting Officer. NOTE: The attached USPS Northeast Area Environmental Health and Safety Guide Checklist must be reviewed, completed, and signed by both the USPS Facility Manager and a representative of the successful contractor before work can begin. Since construction time will exceed sixty (60) days, contractor is bound by Contractor's Screening Requirements. Contractor will be responsible for coordination of all work in a manner that will not interfere with mail operations and coordinate all work related to this project with the Postmaster or designee. Staging of materials and equipment must be coordinated with project architectural/engineering firm CME Associates with Postmaster or designee approval. Any areas damaged by staging operations must be restored to its original condition by the primary contractor. Issuance of Notice of Award and Notice to Proceed is predicated on adequate available funding for the project. The U. S. Postal Service is not responsible for any costs incurred during the proposal process if the project is not awarded for any reason. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Years in Business: Company must show proof they have been in the construction business for a minimum of five (5) consecutive years. Prior Experience: Contractor must provide two examples of being the prime contractor of similar type renovations and mechanical upgrades at an occupied government/commercial/industrial facility with a dollar range of $100,000 or greater.
