Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons, U. S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners, Springfield, Missouri, intends to award on a sole source base under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1 with Fresenius USA, 2637 Shadelands Drive, Walnut Creek, CA 94598 for the procurement of nine (9) 2008T dialysis systems with acetic acid/vinegar jugs. This requirement is to replace aged machines due to extensive usage. Thirty-four (34) Fresenius 2008K, Seven (7) Fresenius 2008K2, and Fifteen (15) Fresenius 2008T dialysis systems are currently in operation six days each week and these additional dialysis machines will replace aged machines due to extensive usage. All dialysis machines are designed to download patient data into the Fresenius CMS 2008K Data Management System. This system allows for the gathering of all aspects of the patient's treatment which monitors and stores critical information in a unique hardware and software system designed specifically for the Fresenius 2008K dialysis machines. Due to the specific necessity of calibration requirements and compatibility, this notice is being issued. The procurement will be for a firm-fixed priced purchase order. Any firm who believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer by September 13, 2012, 2:00 p.m. (CST). Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirements listed and must show competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the sole source procurement to Fresenius, USA. All vendors are hereby notified if your response is not received by the date and time specified in this notice, it will not be considered. Faith-Based and Community -Based Organizations have the right to submit quotes equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible.
