Solicitation This contract requires contractors to follow Common Stand Exam (CSE) protocols to collect forest data to calibrate LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) data collected on the Nez Perce Clearwater National Forests during the summer and fall of 2012. The CSE data shall meet the basic requirements for a CSE intensive exam as defined in the most current version of the Region 1 Common Stand Exam Field Guide unless additional requirements are outlined within the specifications. Contractors shall be required to collect the CSE data electronically. Completed files will be delivered to the US Forest Service in a format compatible with uploading into the FSVEG database. Plot centers for each exam shall be located and monumented by the Government prior to the commencement of work on this contract. Contractors must navigate to these specific plot centers for data collection; no substitutions will be allowed. GPS coordinates shall be supplied for each plot center in the solicitation package. Stand exams shall be performed two project areas located on the Moose Creek Ranger District (in the vicinity of Lowell, ID) and the Salmon River Ranger District (in the vicinity of Grangeville, ID); 160 total plots are required with 2 line items. Plot centers shall be located and monumented by the Government during the fall of 2012 to enable performance of stand exams to occur in the 2013 field season. The Request for Quotations was issued using commercial item procedures. The acquisition has been set-aside for small businesses. All responsible sources, eligible to compete as small businesses, may submit a quotations which shall be considered by the agency.
