- NAVSEA intends to hold an Industry Day regarding the draft NAVSEA Instruction, Qualification of Organizations Conducting Critical Maintenance, Overhaul, and Repair of LPD-17 Class Main Propulsion Diesel Engines on 13 September 2012 from 0900-1200 Eastern Daylight Time at Alion Science and Technology, 1100 New Jersey Ave SE, Suite 200 Constitution Room, Washington D.C. 20003. There will be presentations by the Government and an opportunity for industry feedback. The objectives of the Industry Day are to increase industry understanding of the intent of the policy and to provide industry partners the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback to the Navy. Industry partners are encouraged to review and comment on the draft policy prior to the industry day by completing the attached comment matrix and submitting comments via email to: Michael.E.Wolfe@navy.mil by 11 September 2012. To the maximum extent practical, comments provided via the comment matrix will be presented during the industry day in an open forum. The comment matrix will be sanitized to eliminate any identifying information of the comment originator. Any comments which an originator does not wish to have presented openly may be emailed separately to: Michael.E.Wolfe@navy.mil specifically requesting the comment be withheld from the open forum dialogue. The Government will not reimburse costs for any effort expended or any material provided in response to this announcement. Interested parties are required to RSVP for the Industry Day by close of business 10 September 2012 by email to Michael.E.Wolfe@navy.mil with a copy to the Contracting Officer, Rachel Luther, Rachel.Luther@navy.mil. The RSVP shall include the following information: Subject line: NAVSEA Policy Industry Day RSVP, and in the body of the email provide the attendees name, company name, e-mail address, and telephone number. Interested parties are limited to 5 attendees per respondent/company on a first come first served basis. Recording devices are not permitted at the event.
