- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to award a sole source fixed price contract to Career Communications Group Inc. The purpose is to provide a Women of Color STEM Conference Partnership Package to the Career Communications Group Inc for the 17th Annual Women of Color Conference and Career Fair Expo. The purpose of the conference is to accommodate USACE wide participation in the event; establish and staff an operations center during the event; and serve as the Army's single point of contact with the hosting organization. The primary purpose of the career fair expo is to disseminate information (mission of the organization, major projects, mission critical occupations, etc.) and to promote USACE as an employer of choice. Booth visitors will be provided information on working for USACE and how to apply for positions. Selecting officials who are empowered to interview candidates for positions in which a valid vacancy exists are welcome to attend. Selecting officials can make tentative job offers for positions for which direct hire authority/expedited hiring authority has been granted and/or for noncompetitive authorities such as the Veterans' Recruitment Authority (VRA) and 30 Percent or More Disabled Veterans appointment authority. The period of performance is from date of award for one year. This is a special notice prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302 1(a)(2); "when the supplies or services required by the agency are available from only one responsible source" However, any firm that believes it can meet this requirement may give written notification to the Contracting officer within five (5) days of publication of this announcement. Supporting evidence must be in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government to compete the proposed procurement based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will proceed with awarding a fixed price contract to Career Communications Group Inc. for a 2012 Women of Color STEM Conference Partnership Package.
