Description: The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue a solicitation on a sole source basis to BAE Systems, Armament Systems Division (ASD) 4800 East River Rd Minneapolis, MN 55421 for all efforts and materials to supply major sub-assembly and components of the Zero Thrust Propulsor (ZTP2) required to support the ZTP2 program building requirements, long lead time materials, and spares. The solicitation will be for 3 years with the first unit being awarded in FY13, with an option for one additional propulsor (with a separate option for material) to be awarded in FY14, and a spare propulsor (with a separate option for material) to be awarded no later than FY19. The proposed acquisition will provide for the manufacture, machining, and assembly of the partial rotating portion of the ZTP2 propulsor to support construction and backfit activities for ZTP2 program ships. As the current sole manufacturer for VA Class submarine advanced propulsors, BAE Systems is the only known company that possesses the requisite equipment, methodologies, experience, secure facilities, and expertise to meet the Government 冱 requirements for the ZTP2 advanced propulsor.
