- This file/document is to be used for all questions and comments. The purpose of this posting is to publish a draft Request for Proposal for the construction of the Science and User Support Building (SUSB) for sources sought and comments. This procurement will be competitive for best value. The magnitude of this project is >10M dollars. In response to this draft package, the University will accept questions and comments which will be submitted to the procurement specialist on this project, Sandra Northon, at northsj@slac.stanford.edu no later than20 September 2012, 2:00PM PDT. The subject line is to clearly read "Response to Draft SUSB DB Construction RFP" in your email. A Question and Answer Log, in excel format, is attached for your convenience and is required to submit comments and questions. Questions and responses will be posted on FBO NLT 28 September 2012. No responses to questions will be sent directly to any potential interested party. All communication regarding this posting shall be accomplished via e-mail in writing (no mailing of hard copy or phone calls will be accepted). All communications will be handled through the procurement specialist. Any potential interested party that contacts any other SLAC staff member is regards to this potential subcontract may render themselves ineligible to propose on this business opportunity. No subcontract will result from this posting, and the University is not responsible for any costs incurred by contractors in preparing responses to this posting. The Design Guidelines and Performance Specifications architect will not be able to partner nor bid on the SUSB Design Build Construction project. SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is operated by Stanford University for the Department of Energy. As a management and operating contractor, subcontracts awarded by the Laboratory are not Federal procurements, and are not directly subject to the Federal Acquisition Regulations in 48 CFR. Nonetheless, certain Federal laws, Executive Orders, and regulations may affect our DOE approved purchasing system, as required by statue, regulation, or contract terms and conditions.
