Description
This is a notice of intent to award a sole source, Firm- Fixed Price (FFP) contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) pursuant to the Federal Acquisitions Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, to CEIA USA, located at 9155 Dutton Drive, Twinsburg, OH 44087. The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) has a requirement for the purchase of two hundred (200) Walk-Through Metal Detectors that are fully compliant with NIJ-0601.02/NIJ-0601.03 standards as well as the testing requirements of the BOP. The CEIA 601 Plus WTMDs has profile and network capability. These WTMDs are equipped with built-in panel cross bars 1D/2D bar code readers capable of scanning the current inmate ID cards These advanced technology WTMDs are also equipped with profile capability which enables the BOP to capture the metal signature of every inmate and create baseline profiles upon which each and every pass through the WTMD will be registered against the existing inmate profile and stored in the NETID ELSA software server into the database.. In addition, the BOP needs WTMDs with the capability to pick up the most difficult stainless steel contraband (specifically high grade stainless steel weapons, e.g. S303 and S304). CEIA is the manufacture of this equipment and is the only known company at this time which can provide the BOP with the proprietary integratable system required. The requirement will be awarded by the Federal Bureau of Prisons and placed at approximately 20 high security institutions. The NAICS code for this requirement is 334519. This notice of intent to award a sole source contract is not a request for competitive proposals. A Request for Proposal (RFP) will not be available for this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Any firm that believes it can provide the stated equipment shall provide supporting documents demonstrating their products capability and specifications within three (3) days after date of publication of this notice of intent.
