- The Healthcare Acquisition Activity-JTF Camped, Bethesda, Md, intends to issue a firm-fixed-price, sole source contract to Varian Medical Systems for purchase of a maintenance agreement for the TrueBeam, Brain Lab ExacTRAC, and Brain Lab RT Workstation. This contract is at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC), Bethesda, MD. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR Part 12.603 under streamlined solicitation for commercial items and FAR Part 6.302-1 only one responsible source is reasonably available because of the proprietary nature of the systems. Varian is the developer and vendor of the TrueBeam, Brain Lab ExacTRAC, and Brain Lab RT Workstations. They are the only company with access and understanding of these systems. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 334517 and the size standard is 500 employees. All responsible sources may submit a response. A determination made by the Government to not compete this requirement will be based on responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A solicitation will not be issued. Interested firms may identify their interest in writing to the Government point of contact. Responses to this notice must be received no later than 10:00 AM EST, 21 Sep 2012.
