Description
******CONTACT JANET APPLETON (ARCS) ONLY TO SUBMIT QUOTES AT janet.L.appleton@nasa.gov) THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR SELF-PROPELLED MODULAR TRANSPORTERS. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to answer questions generated from this solicitation. No more questions will be accepted. Submit all quotes to Janet Appleton (ARCS) at janet.L.appleton@nasa.gov QUESTION: Paragraph 3.3.2-should the shore power voltage be 480 VAC instead of 430 VAC? ANSWER: 480 is correct, 430 is a typo. QUESTION: Paragraph 3.2.2 states deck height ranges from 29' to 39' but paragraph 3.9.3 states minimum vertical lift is 11'. Which is correct? ANSWER: 3.2.2 is not the same as 3.9.3; 3.2.2 should be interpreted as the lowered position which cannot be higher than 29 inches but can be lower, and the raised position must be at least 39 inches but can also be higher. QUESTION: Can the proposal due date be extended? ANSWER: No due to schedule requirements. QUESTION: Will these transporters be used to transport the booster onto the barge at MAF? The concern is the ability of the transporters to negotiate the transition across the berm to the barge with a 10' stroke. ANSWER: No, these transporters will not be used to transport boosters onto a barge at MAF; the specification is sufficient as written for the concern about the transition across the berm. QUESTION: Is the lead-time for options 1 and 2 correct (exercise date to deliver date)? ANSWER: The options are exercise dates to purchase additional transporters not delivery dates. The due date for receipt of offers is not extended. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on 9/14/2012.
