Description
The US Army Medical Command, North Atlantic Regional Contracting Office, North, intends to negotiate a Sole Source Firm-Fixed Price contract award to Spectranetics. They are the only known organization that provides the CVX-300 Gen 4 Excimer Laser. It is the only FDA approved laser to treat cardiovascular plague. The CVX-300 tool is used to remove/treat arterial plague. (Tools validated for clinical use are not the same as those validated for population-based use.) The contract will be awarded to Spectranetics. Market research was previously conducted and it has been determined that this is a sole source requirement IAW FAR 6.302-1. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. All interested sources must respond in writing with clear and convincing evidence to support their ability to provide timely and effective services within three (3) days of this publication. A determination by the Government not to compete this action based on responses received is solely within the discretion of the Government. Like items are as follows: Spectranetics CVX-300 Laser Excimer P/N CVX-300 QTY 1 To include the following: Initial disposable stocking package Installation Produces an ultraviolet laser beam at a wavelength of 308 Nanometers for the removal of unwanted intravascular tissue. Warms up in 5 minutes and microprocessor controlled allowing for simple, automatic calibration of all catheter devices. XeCl, Pulsed laser system with a wavelenght of 308 nm. The pulse width is 125nS - 200S FWHM. The catheter output is 30-60mJ/mm2 and maximum repetition rate is 40pps. 49 inches (L), 35 inches (H), 24 1/8 inches (W) 208VAC, 50/60HZ, 20 amp Authority: 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), Justification: Supplies (or services) required are available from only one or a limited number of responsible source(s) and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
