Description
The US Army Fires Center of Excellence's Capabilities Development Integration Directorate(CDID)TRADOC Capability Manager ADA Brigade Systems (ADA Bde),Fort Sill are requesting information from Defense Industry regarding a capability to provide Counter-Unmanned Aerial System(C-UAS)capabilities to current and projected Army formations. The resulting information will be used to assist the CDID in determining possible candidate systems for inclusion in Black Dart 2013, and developing future requirements and capabilities. This Request for Information effort will compile and assess capabilities and maturity of technologies available today and in the near-term based on technology readiness levels (TRL). Capabilities of interest include (but are not limited to): Battle Command and sensor systems that facilitate rapid detection, Identification and classification of UAS targets; Electronic systems that can interdict, defeat or deny enemy use of UAS; and systems providing the capability to intercept and destroy hostile UAS. Interested organizations (Government and Private Organizations) are requested to provide a short, 8 page or less(excluding cover page and table of contents)white paper detailing their potential solutions. All documents be developed using MS-Word, and be written in Times New Roman 12 pt. The white paper should include a description of the capability, its technical maturity based on TRL, and your point of contact(name,telephone number and email address). Please do not include corporate capabilities or past performance discussions. White papers must be submitted to government POCs no later than 20 October 2012. This Request for Information (RFI) does not constitute an invitation to the FCoE Counter UAS Defense Coordination Meeting on 5-6 December 2012. Candidates to be invited will be sent an email invitation to the coordination meeting based on Technology Readiness Level of their candidate systems and aplicability to the requested information. Representatives from all of the US Army's Centers of Excellence will be represented at the meeting. The format for this meeting will consist of a group session where general topics will be discussed and specific questions answered. Organizations that submitted information may be invited to a breakout session between the individual organization and a government panel. Development and submission of the white paper and costs associated with meeting attendance will be made at no cost and no liability to the government. The meeting will take place at Ft. Sill Oklahoma, Snow Hall (BLDG 730) Room 212 on 5-6 December 2012 and begin at 0900 CST. Individual breakout times will be on 6 Decemnber 2012 and will be posted the day of the meeting. This RFI is issued as Request for Information, solely for information and planning purposes. It shall not be considered as an Information for Bid (IFB), Request for Quotation (RFQ), Request for Proposal (RFP), or as an obligation on the part of the government to respond, or to acquire any products or services. Any response to this synopsis will be treated as information only. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if issued. IF a solicitation is issued, it will be synopsized in the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website.
