Description
The Baltimore District Corps of Engineers, Real Property Services Field Office, issues this pre-solicitation notice for a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business set-aside for a design-bid-build construction project located on Fort Meade, MD. This will be a firm-fixed priced construction contract. One contractor will be selected for award. This is a construction project for improvements to the Vehicle Control Point 2 (VCP-2) located on Fort Meade, Maryland. The work includes, but is not limited to, phased construction of new travel lanes, the installation of an anti-ram barrier, demolition of portions of the existing security fencing, concrete curb and gutter and paving,, micro bio-retention facilities and other work associated with improving the VCP During construction VCP-2 shall remain operational and maintain all security requirements. This proposed procurement is restricted to Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned contractors. The NAICS code 237310 with a size standard of $33, 500,000.00. The work shall be completed within 365 calendar days from receipt of notice to proceed. The magnitude of construction is $1-5M. All workers performing on this job are required to be U.S. Citizens. The solicitation will be posted to FedBizOpps on or about 10 October 2012. Drawings and site plans will need to be picked up in person. To arrange for pick up, email Nancy.Kebe-Robinson@usace.army.mil. Offerors picking up documents are required to sign a memorandum signed by a corporate officer. The offeror picking up the documents will be required to show a valid driver's license and leave a business card. All drawings and site plans must be returned following award. Qualified contractors are encouraged to attend a site visit on or about 10 October 2012. Contractors are required to pre-register and be approved to attend. Each company will be limited to two individuals attending the site visit. A request for site visit registration must be sent in writing to Contract Specialist, Nancy Kebe-Robinson via email at Nancy.Kebe-Robinson@usace.army.mil no later than 12:00 p.m. 3 October 2012. The request for the site visit shall include the full name, SSN, date of birth, town and state of birth, who the visitor represents, and any clearances held (clearance is not required to attend). Site visit location will be disclosed upon approval of offerors request. Only U.S. Citizens may attend. The site visit location will be in the Fort Meade area.
