- Maneuver Support Center of Excellence (MSCoE) has scheduled an Industry and Academia Day to have an open dialogue on the force modernization areas of responsibility at Fort Leonard Wood and opportunities for Industry and Academia to support via the Army's Basic and Applied Research Programs and the MSCoE on Thursday, October 18 2012 at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, from 0730-1715. Interested companies and universities must pre-register no later than close of business Wednesday, October 10 2012. Pre-registration points of contact are Mr. Dennis Hutchinson at dennis.g.hutchinson.civ@mail.mil and Ms. Lisa Lyon at lisa.s.lyon2.civ@mail.mil. Pre-registration is required and will be accomplished thru a link on the MSCoE/Ft Leonard Wood public facing web page (http://www.wood.army.mil/st_2012/ ). Proof of citizenship is required at time of registration. Conference facility space is limited and will be accommodated on a first-come-first-served basis. Attendance is not mandatory and will not affect eligibility for future contract actions. Organizations are encouraged to check the registration website frequently any updates will not be announced on FedBizOps. The intent is to provide industry and academia a better understanding of the MSCOE proponencies for military operations to include: Chemical, Biological Radiological and Nuclear Operations, Engineer Operations, Military Police Operations, Protection/Maneuver Support Operations. In addition daily Training Operations at Fort Leonard Wood will be discussed. Technologies developed under the Army's Basic and Applied Research Programs will modernize our forces and provide enhanced training environments. The Army's Research Program that supports these operations and the process for Industry and Academia to participate will be discussed. The opportunities include the Army Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program, the Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Program and other funding mechanisms available to the Research & Development community of the US Army. From I-44 take Exit 161 for Fort Leonard Wood/St. Robert. Turn South on Missouri Ave which will lead directly to the Sverdrup Gate of Fort Leonard Wood.
