Description
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. Companies are encouraged to respond if they have the capability and/or capacity to provide the items identified below. Respondents should identify their company name, address, email, telephone number and a name and telephone number of a point of contact having the authority and knowledge to clarify responses with government representatives. Respondents shall identify any applicable schedule contract numbers they hold, and any additional information applicable to this RFI. Submissions are due NO LATER THAN 10/04/2012 and must be submitted via email to Lindsey Hooge at Lindsey.Hooge@va.gov. This RFI is part of the Government's Market Research, a continuous process for obtaining the latest information from industry, with respect to their current and near-term abilities. The Government requests information regarding whether or not vendors can provide the follow services in Temple, TX and Waco, TX area: 1.Pickup Mail Service for the Temple and Waco Central Texas Veterans Healthcare System (CTVHCS). 2.Requirements: The Contractor shall provide timely mail pickup from the Temple and Waco Hospital Facilities for processing first class mail for sorting by zip code, and metering of mail for delivery to the United State Postal Service. Required Services for CTVHCS shall be for 1 year from date of award with a one (1) year option period. b.Contractor Responsibilities: The Contractor shall provide all management, supervision, labor, materials, supplies and equipment and shall plan, schedule, coordinate, and assure effective performance of all services in order to expedite deliverance of sensitive medical items to the from the Temple and Waco Central Texas Healthcare System facilities. Furthermore the Contractor for the Mail Service will be the representative of the CTVHCS for delivery, sorting and placing postage on outgoing mail and other items that require postage. The Contractor along with the CTVHCS Point of Contact shall spot check the deliver time by using the tagging of shipments to designation. The Contractor shall provide a minimum of presorted mail and barcode services applicable to the postage discount level offered, for domestic First Class Federal Government Mail in accordance with standard commercial practices of all United States Postal Service Regulations. The contractor shall have and maintain an USPS Coding Accuracy Support System (CAS) Certification. The Contractor shall be solely responsible for all drivers and staffing issues related to the operation of the mail delivery service. Schedule: Services shall be required five (5) days per week. Additional days may be required and will be negotiated as the need arises by the Contracting Officer or Point of Contract. Hours of Service: The Contractor shall pick-up medical items between the hours of 2:30 pm and 4:00 pm 5 days of week, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. The Contractor shall take the mail back to their facility and sort and apply the proper postage on each item. Contractor personnel shall possess a valid driver's license in order to complete pick and delivery of mail service.
