The firm must be a small business general construction firm with an approved NAICS Code 236220. The Small Business Size Standard is $33.5 million. The estimated price range for Project 593-2022 is between $10,000,000 and $20,000,000. The expansion of the VASNHS Emergency Department will result in approximately 27,000 gross square feet of new space and will be housed in a building addition adjacent to the existing Emergency Department. The work will consist of: 1)Demolition of approximately 25% of the interior construction for the existing emergency department, exterior building elements and site work as required accommodating corridor and service connection to the proposed new emergency department. 2)Remodel portions of the existing interior emergency department to accommodate inter-connection of staff and patient/visitor corridors to the proposed new emergency department expansion. 3)Construction of a new one story building addition to house the additional emergency department program space required for the emergency department. The new single story emergency department expansion shall have the foundations and structure designed to accommodate future vertical expansion of not less than five additional floors to match the floor elevations of the existing hospital. The construction includes a mechanical penthouse at Level 2. 4)Construction of new site-work to accommodate the necessary changes to the ambulance drop-off, patient drop-off, outdoor decontamination area, emergency department parking and hardscape and landscape modifications with consideration for future building expansions taking into account UFAS and VA Accessible Guidelines.
