Description
Drawing 5 Drawing 4 Drawing 3 Drawing 2 Drawing 1 Sources Sought: Time of flight (TOF) mass spectrometer for selected ion flow tube This request is an announcement for information/market research for planning purposes. This synopsis does not constitute a request for proposal, request for quote, invitation for bid nor does its issuance, in any way, restrict the Government as to its ultimate acquisition approach. The AFNWC/PKOA is seeking potential sources to provide Time of flight (TOF) mass spectrometer for selected ion flow tube meeting the following criteria: 1) Overall system - a. The TOF must be consistent with existing technology in our flow tube apparatus; i.e. it should mate to the current apparatus without redesign (drawings included). The vacuum system shall be made of stainless steel/aluminum flanges and UHV compatible components, where appropriate. b. All electronics to run the TOF should be included. c. Wiring shall be designed to minimize the electromagnetic interference. d. All components used within the source should be vacuum compatible with minimum outgassing and thermal stability that will allow thermal cleaning of the system. e. Adapters to the current system will be included by the contractor. f. The system will allow use of current quadrupole with only external changes. g. The system will come with all ion gauges and controllers needed. h. Existing vacuum pumps will be used. i. Where possible, use of existing vacuum chambers will be used (i.e. modification of the vacuum chambers currently housing the quadrupole as detailed in the drawings). j. Resolution should be 2000 amu. k. Mass range shall be greater than 2000 amu. l. Existing quadrupole will be used as a) a mass spectrometer or b) an ion guide to get a beam to the TOF. m. Mounting hardware for the current quadrupole and detector will be included by the contractor. n. Detectors for the TOF will be included by the contractor. o. Automated gate valve to protect the TOF from vacuum accidents. This should be interlocked to the ion gauge controller. p. Chamber mounting frame should be included by the contractor. q. System will include data acquisition software consisting of: i. Electronic Test Equipment: 1. Interface to provide mass calibration 2. Averaging 3. AFRL will supply the pulse delay generator. ii. Hardware: 1. Will include a high speed preamplifier 2. Will include appropriate PCI card r. The system will come with a TOF controller for either positive or negative ions. i. This will include everything required to run the TOF including lens supply, front panel controls and a USB computer interface. Firms responding to this announcement shall include company name, DUNS number, Cage Code, Point of Contact, address and business size using NAICS Code 334516, Size Standard 500 people. Statement of Capabilities (SOCs), limited to 2 pages and shall demonstrate experience in providing or manufacturing of product or capability to provide products meeting the specifications listed. Statement of Capabilities may be submitted by facsimile at (505) 846-8925, Attn: Heather Miller or preferably via E-mail to: heather.miller@kirtland.af.mil. Identify your response with the corresponding program title: Sources Sought: The time of flight (TOF) mass spectrometer.
