- Description
- Details for sources sought synopsis. Details for sources sought synopsis. This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought Synopsis and Request for Information. The purpose of this Sources Sought is to conduct market research to determine if responsible sources exist, to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or a total Small Business Set-Aside. The following information is provided to assist the Air Force in conducting market research of industry to identify sources of repair that meet Air Force requirements. This is neither a request for proposal nor an invitation for bid. There will be no reimbursement for the information provided. The PATS (Portable Automated Test System) group of the 516 SXMS/MXDED is building test systems for O-Level maintenance and repair. The O-Level environment can consist of using the PATS in exposed outside weather conditions. Because of the exposed outside weather conditions, the operator's PC tablet must also meet the same exposed weather conditions as the PATS. Because of this requirement, the ruggedized PC tablet pushed a unique design requirement for the PATS. Not only is there a very specific form factor that is required to fit/latch into the PATS PC carriage, but there is a unique external pinout for power connection between the PATS to PC tablet and a unique very specific modification that is required before fielding of the PATS. The modification is done as per PC tablet technical drawing package. Touch labor is required to implement the modification prior to PATS fielding. This modification was designed to the specific PC tablet form factor. The Attachment PC Tablet Specs Draft lists the required assets to be procured under a contract with their necessary corresponding requirements. Any deviation from the assets listed in the Attachment PC Tablet Specs Draft is prohibited due to meeting customer exposed weather condition requirements, unique PC tablet form factor that drove a design requirement of the PATS, and unique PC tablet modification that is specific to the PC tablet form factor as well. The PATS is a major O-level maintenance and repair program for the USAF. This activity will procure the assets necessary to repair and maintain current Electronic Environmental Systems, Weapon Systems and Avionics on various weapon platforms to insure on sight mission readiness.
