Description
Sources Sought - BALLAST North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 212319, Aggregate Stone, Ballast, Screenings, and Base Course. The U.S. Army Contracting Command - Rock Island is seeking interested sources from both small and large business, for the proposed procurement of Ballast, Base Course and Screenings. Current projected quantities are Ballast (Zero Minimum Quantity with an Estimated Maximum Quantity of 50,000 Tons), Base Course (Zero Minimum Quantity with an Estimated Maximum Quantity of 90,000 Tons) and Screenings (Zero Minimum Quantity with an Estimated Maximum Quantity of 50,000 Tons). For this procurement the Government will be utilizing a Request for Proposal (RFP). Material shall be ODOT certified and comply with the most current regulation/specification set forth by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT), Reference Section 703.01, Aggregate for Aggregate Base. Aggregate shall originate from a site that is shown on the ODOT website page, "Materials and Testing e-Guide - All Approved and Unexpired Aggregate/Stone Listings", or provide documentation from ODOT that the site is approved to supply the requested aggregate, per the ODOT specifications and testing. See http://www.okladot.state.ok.us/materials/htm-smap/11068-ALL.htm. No more than two sources shall be allowed to be combined to produce the aggregate base. Neither source can have a PI greater than 8. The material contribution minus 200 shall be from a limestone source. Mixing shall be obtained by means of a pug mill to ensure a constant mix, with no water added. This market survey is for information and planning purposes only, does not constitute an RFP and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. Any information provided by industry to the Government as a result of this sources sought is voluntary. The Government will not pay for any information submitted in response to this sources sought. The Government requests interested parties to submit a brief description of their company (business size, business status i.e., small or large) and state material is ODOT certified and list the site from which material will be supplied. Acknowledgement of receipt will not be issued, nor will respondents be notified of the results of the evaluation of the data received. Responses are required by 2:00 PM CST on 29 October 2012.
