- SYNOPSIS: This is a Sole Source synopsis published for informational purposes only. This proposed action is for the procurement of Material Handling Equipment Storage Batteries for use at DLA Distribution Susquehanna, New Cumberland, PA. The batteries are components of an FKI Maestro material handling equipment system: Item 0001: 12 EA-Battery, Standard Flooded, 36 volt, 152 amp, left, FKI Maestro P/N 18-P38-09, NSN 614000L100079. Item 0002: 12 EA-Battery, Standard Flooded, 36 volt, 152 amp, right, FKI Maestro P/N 18-P38-09, NSN 614000L100080. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This proposed procurement will be a Sole Source under North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) 335911. Size standard is 500 employees. The proposed source is EAST PENN MANUFACTURING CO INC, 147 DEKA RD, LYON STATION, PA 19536-0147. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement or quotation which shall be considered by the Government if received within five (5) days of this notice. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All responsible sources may respond by submitting the company's qualifications/capabilities to provide the material handling equipment storage batteries specified above. Responses are due no later than 3:00 PM EDT on FRIDAY, October 26, 2012. If no affirmative responses are received by 3:00 PM EDT, FRIDAY, October 26, 2012 to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, a purchase order will be negotiated and awarded to EAST PENN MANUFACTURING CO INC.
