- This announcement is a notice of intent to issue a noncompetitive contract for Land Mobile Radio Maintenance to Harris Corporation, 221 Jefferson Ridge PKWY, Lynchburg, VA, 24501-6952, for the period 1 January 2013 through 31 December 2015 (base period plus two one-year options) at Fort Hood, Texas. This proposed action involves strictly Land Mobile Radio maintenance; it does not include the purchase of new peripheral devices. Fort Hood is presently using a Harris Digital Trunked Narrowband Multi-site P25IP system, version 6.2 The Fort Hood Land Mobile Radio System can only be supported by Harris because the software, hardware, and firmware engrained through-out the network is proprietary to the Harris corporation. A short synopsis from the Performance Work Statement is as follows: The contractor shall provide all qualified personnel, material, tools, test equipment, and any other items/services necessary to perform troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, and all operational checks and adjustments required to accomplish maintenance and support for the Fort Hood Land Mobile Radio Infrastructure and Terminal Items as defined in this Performance Work Statement. This proposed action will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements, 10 U.S.C. 2304-(c)(1). Firms are requested to submit any questions/concerns regarding this noncompetitive contract directly to the contract specialist, Michael Christ, at michael.p.christ2.civ@mail.mil, and contracting officer, Susheep Oden, at Susheep.oden.civ@mail.mil no later than 4:00 PM CST 6 November 2012. Questions submitted by other means will not be evaluated or considered. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed procurement based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334290, Other Communications Equipment Manufacturing. The Small Business Size Standard for NAICS 334290 is 750 Employees.
