Description
This synopsis amends and supplements this projects original synopsis, released 03 October 2012 and scheduled to archive 18 November 2012, keyword G13PS00005. In addition to the work originally described, the scope of this project also includes the renovation of an existing 1,358 sq ft reinforced concrete (unoccupied) quarters structure. The scope of this renovation includes repair of minor structural deficiencies, resurfacing of the flat roof, light kitchen renovation, light demolition and general site cleanup, general electrical work, flooring and carpet work, mold removal/remediation work, and painting. Contractors are also advised that lead-based paint and asbestos materials may be present throughout the site. Therefore, contractors must be EPA lead-safe certified and trained in asbestos removal, or have subcontractor team members who are. The total period of performance remains 120 days from the notice to proceed, alternate payment protection will still be required, and this projects estimated magnitude remains between $100K and $150K. The USGS contemplates award of a firm-fixed price contract utilizing the simplified acquisition procedures of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13. The request for quotations (RFQ), including a detailed statement of work and contractor evaluation criteria, will be available on or after 05 November 2012. Site visit opportunities will be provided. A formal RFQ is not available for release at this time. Interested parties may contact the Contracting Officer identified below by email to be added to the interest list. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code (2007 version) is 236210, entitled industrial building construction. The associated small business size standard is $33.5M in average (three year moving average) annual revenue. This immediate acquisition is set-aside for participation by HUBZone small business concerns and there is no incumbent contractor. Please direct all inquiries to the Contracting Officer, Jeff Caravelli, at jcaravelli@usgs.gov. END
