- Description: The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 10, 6150 Oak Tree Blvd, Independence, OH 44131 anticipates soliciting bids and subsequently awarding a contract for the construction project 541-12-113 known as "Renovate Dietetics Admin Space." All work will be performed at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center at 10701 East Blvd, Cleveland OH 44106. The project will renovate approximately 2,500 SF of existing construction along the north side of the main existing facility shipping and receiving area on the first floor. The project will create a new dry foods storage, conference room, and administrative office space for the Dietetics Service at the Medical Center. The period of performance will be 180 days after the notice to proceed. In accordance with VAAR 836.204 the Magnitude of Construction is estimated to be between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The NAICS code for this work is NAICS 236220 - Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. The small business size standard is $33.5 million. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, supplies, and travel, to perform work under this project. The work will include but not be limited to general construction, alterations, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, electrical work, technology fit-out, utility systems, and certain other items. The solicitation will be issued as an "Invitation for Bid" conducted in accordance with FAR Parts 14, 19, and 36 and be evaluated in accordance with the procedures therein. This opportunity will be available only to contractors under the Set-Aside program. The solicitation will be a 100% set-aside for SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS in accordance with 38 U.S.C. § 8127, for the Department of Veterans Affairs, "Service-disabled veteran-owned small business concern". The solicitation is expected to be issued on or about Monday August 13, 2012, as an invitation for bid and bids will be due 30 days later as will be described in the solicitation. The Government intends to award a firm-fixed-price contract. The solicitation, when published on www.fbo.gov will include the specifications and drawings. A pre-bid conference will be scheduled approximately one week after the solicitation is posted. The time and place will be stated in the solicitation. All prospective contractors, subcontractors and suppliers are urged to attend. This will be the only site visit scheduled for this project. Individual requests to view the site will not be granted. This Notice is for informational purposes only. This notice is not a request for competitive offers. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement is solely within the discretion of the Government.
