- On or about 15 November 2012, this office will issue a Request for Proposals for design and construction of the FY13 B-52 Add/Alter Munitions AGE Facility, Minot AFB, ND. The solicitation will close on or about 03 January 2013. This solicitation is RESTRICTED TO SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION ONLY. A site visit for the proposed project will be held after solicitation issue. Solicitation documents will provide pertinent site visit information including date, time, point(s) of contact, and any special instructions for attendance. DO NOT submit requests for plans and specifications to the site visit personnel listed above. See ‘Obtaining Solicitation Documents' below. _______________________________________________________________________________ Project Description: (Approx. quantities) Add/Alter Munitions AGE Facility is a 3-bay addition to the existing 3-bay AGE facility and will provide the necessary space for the storage and maintenance of Munitions Handling Trailers (MHTs. The addition consists of a one-story steel post and beam framed maintenance bay structure similar to the existing 3-bay facility with non-load bearing masonry and steel framed walls. The new addition will be approximately 7,750 square feet with metal panel siding, reinforced concrete foundation and floor slabs. The exterior walls are clad with insulated metal panel to match the existing structure. The roof is standing seam metal with a membrane underlayment. The project will include design and construction of the three additional work bays, attached electrical room, mechanical room, and generator room. Site improvements will include removal of pavement for the construction of the addition as well as adjacent paving in the vehicle/trailer circulation areas to match existing grades. The design-build requirements will stipulate compliance with current building and fire protection codes, accessibility, electrical, plumbing, and other systems; and meet any required antiterrorism/force protection (AT/FP). The alteration portion of the project will include approximately 11,430 gross square feet of existing space and require mechanical (new HVAC system) and electrical upgrades (lighting fixtures) throughout as well as plumbing and plumbing fixtures. Interior finishes will require new paint throughout. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $2,500,000 and $5,000,000. _______________________________________________________________________________ The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 540 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety.
