- NOTICE OF INTENT The proposed contract action is for Hip and Knee Implant case, which the Naval Medical Center San Diego intends to solicit this requirement on a sole source basis to Smith & Nephew. under the authority of Far 13.106-1(b)(1). This is a solicitation for commercial items, prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes only solicitation, quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number, N00259-13-T-0048 is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this acquisition is 339112. Size 500 All interested bidders shall submit quotations electronically by email to Joseph.Bancod@med.navy.mil or by facsimile at 619-532-5596, attention Joseph Bancod. E-mail submissions are limited to 2MB. The submitter should confirm receipt of facsimile and email submissions. Quotations are due on or before November 02, 2012, 08:00AM Pacific Standard Time to be considered responsive. CLIN 0001: Total Knee Revision Unit each Quantity 01 The Legion Knee System features a rotated femoral implant design optimizes femorotibial rotational alignment and reduces the likelihood of notching the lateral anterior cortex. Anatomically-shaped tibial baseplates have an improved fin design and significantly improve coverage of the tibia as compared to symmetrical designs. CLIN 0002: Total Knee System Unit each Quantity 01 System should consist of four parts that work together to restore the original function of ball-and-socket joint. The required THA should features a metal hip that is inserted into the top of the thigh bone, a metal cup which holds the cup liner, and a cup liner which holds the femoral head. The femoral head is attached to the hip stem and inserted onto the liner to form the ball-and socket-joint. These proprietary rights preclude other vendors from guaranteeing the supply functionally in support of the Smith & Nephew Inc. Contractor must be registered to the SAM prior to award.
