Description
PWS for DOD Central Cancer Registry Program Solicitation Number/Title DOD Central Cancer Registry Program Notice Type: Sources sought Synopsis: The Healthcare Acquisition Activity-JTF Capmed, at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC), Bethesda, Md, intends to issue a firm-fixed-price contract for continued development of a consolidated (Central) cancer registry function in support of the Department of Defense Cancer Surveillance Program. The Joint Pathology Center (JPC) has a requirement to develop, implement and manage a central cancer registry to ensure high quality cancer data in conjuction with the Automated Central Tumor Registry (ACTUR) system, which is the DOD specific software application for cancer data collection (see attached Performance Work Statement). ACTUR, as part of DODs Cancer Surveillance Program and the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS), is a hospital based application and data repository. This system due to its unique and broad population base, has the potential to be a powerful tool for incidence and mortality reporting, measuring and monitoring patterns and standards of care and treatment outcomes. In order to nurture and maintain a research quality database, the continuance and maintenance of a DoD central registry function modeled after Public Law 102-515 is vital. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 621399 and the size standard is $7 million dollars. All responsible sources may submit a response. A determination made by the Government to not compete this requirement will be based on responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Interested firms may identify their interest in writing to the Government point of contact. Responses to this notice must be received no later than 10:00 AM EST, 15 Nov 2012. Oral, facsimile and telephone inquiries are not acceptable in response to this notice. The point of contact for this action is Patricia Bruce at Patricia.Bruce@us.army.mil. Contracting Office Address: HCAA, JTF CapMed (NARCO), WRNMMC, Bethesda, MD 20889-5000.
