Description
FMS Bahrain CFFT II J&A The CFFT II is a lightweight, rapidly deployable, observed fire training system that provides simulated battlefield training for Fire Support Specialists, Joint Fires Observers (JFO), and Soldiers at the institutional and unit level. There are three configurations of the CFFT. The 1:4 version comprises one Instructor Station physically connected to the four Forward Observer (FO) Stations where one instructor can train four students. The 1:12 version includes one Instructor Station and 12 FO stations. The 1:30 version comprises one Instructor Station physically connected to the 30 FO Stations. This FMS requirement via the requiring activity, Bahrain Defense Forces, will utilize the 1:12 system. The CFFT II system (In Accordance With DA PAM 350-9) allows commanders flexibility to conduct Observe Fire training in a controlled environment and provides the capability to conduct Observed Fires rehearsals and training without using live ammunition. This system is the only US Army certified system to train tasks related to Observed Fires. The system provides advanced distributed learning, simulated military equipment, virtual environments, and computer generated forces. Deploying units have limited access to live fire ranges and are not able to maintain proficiency in critical tasks required for Observed Fires. The CFFT Forward Observer Trainer fulfills this training requirement. "Close Air Support" (CAS) a newly added training module, is a subtask of Observed Fires and has been identified as a critical training requirement for units entering hostilities / contingency environments.
