Description
This is not a request for quotations. SAIC won a contract to support Aberdeen Proving Grounds in their Rapid Prototyping Technology Insertion requirements. In accomplishing tasks under that contract, they must respond to various requirements. The following procurements have been approved in support of this contract. The reasoning behind the brand name specific material service plan requests are provided below. For the Lacing Track (PN: 171-20075-03) and Armored Fiber Patch Cable (PN: FPC-28A-200-FA) purchased from Princetel: These two items are part of an antenna kit. CP&I have been given the responsibility of manufacturing these kits. Drawings provided by the customer require procurement of the above part numbers. Lockheed Martin fielded this antenna HARK kit part for the US Army SPO (Special Projects Office), and has a non-disclosure agreement for their unique part and design which requires the fabrication by this preferred vendor. Since this is a fielded design no substitutes will be allowed for the designed kits otherwise all previous units would need to be replaced and or reset which in turn would raise the required quantity of kits by an order of magnitude without even accounting for the design approval and supportability concerns. A replacement or substitution would require reset of all previous fielded units. For the Gold Care Service Plan, Electrical Calibration Products from Fluke Electronics: Fluke is the manufacturer and service plan provider for Fluke calibration products. Fluke does not have a retailer or distributor that offers service plans to cover these products. The price received is from the Fluke published catalog list price offered to the general public. For the Dell M4700 Laptop and Samsung Monitor: If the government does not buy these exact makes & models we will NOT be using the same make & models that the USMC have already purchased through the Marine Corps Hardware site. We MUST have the exact same make/model of equipment for configuration control purposes. We plan to deploy a single disk-image for ALL the TIPS laptops; doing this will save time and money. If we do not purchase this equipment we will not be able to test and configure this equipment for the new TIPS nor will we be able to test and configure a disk image; you cannot configure a single laptop disk using multiple makes/models of different laptops. The items are part of a standardization program for TIPS. Having the same laptops will also reduce maintenance support, log tail, and IT support.
