Description
Department of the Navy, Naval Air Systems Command, NAVAIR Division Pax River, Building 442 21936 Bundy Road, Patuxent River, MD 20670 Description of Procurement THIS SYNOPSIS IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The Naval Air Systems Command; NAVAIR Division (AIR 2.3.1.3), Patuxent River, MD 20670 intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Bell Helicopter Textron Inc, 600 East Hurst Blvd, Hurst Texas 76053-8030. This acquisition is for engineering change proposal (ECP) to NAVAIR for the USMC/USN UH-1Y fleet aircraft for the production incorporation of steel Clamps and Tail Boom Retainer retrofit Kits extending the life to 4800 hours TSN. This action is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1) as sited in FAR 6.302-1, " Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing basic ordering agreement) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
