Description

PEO LCS Technology Day will be held on 30 November 2012 at Building 40 within Naval Surface Warfare Center (NWSC) Carderock in West Bethesda, MD. The event will begin at 0800 and is estimated to end at 1600 EST. This announcement is not a formal solicitation and is not a request for proposal. The event will be held at the Distribution D level and is open to DOD government and DoD contracted US industry representatives only. Technology Day will formally launch the PEO LCS Rapid Technology Insertion (RTI) process as described in the approved PEO LCS Science & Technology (S&T) Investment Strategy. This event is planned to be held on an annual basis. Technology candidates for the upcoming Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) that will support the RTI process should be considered mature technologies at the start of the process to facilitate rapid insertion. There is an overall interest at PEO LCS in advanced software and hardware technology improvements that could help the LCS successfully complete its primary missions of countering diesel submarine threats, littoral mine threats, and surface threats, such as small surface craft attacks. The technology focus areas for PEO LCS will be announced at Technology Day. Although the scope of the topics under these focus areas this year may be limited, the broader intent of Technology Day is to facilitate communication of LCS technology needs and potential provider solutions to better guide Rapid Technology Insertion efforts in the future. In this initial year of the process, the funding allocated to this BAA will be small. Funding will be expanded appropriately in future years. PEO LCS requests that firms interested in attending the PEO LCS Technology Day submit company names and attendee lists by 1400 EST, 26 November 2012 via e-mail to Donald Park at dopark@caci.com. Companies are limited to two representatives each as seating is limited. All attendees are required to present government-issued photo identification upon entry to the event. This announcement is for informational planning purposes, does not constitute a formal solicitation or request for proposal and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. Attendance at the Technology Day and any discussion/release of information is strictly voluntary. Any formal solicitation will be announced at a later date. The Government reserves the right to cancel this requirement at any time during the acquisition process. The Government will not be responsible for any associated costs as a result of prospective offeror ™s interest and/or response to this notice or future solicitation.
