Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation for bids, proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of all qualified sources to perform a potential requirement. The responses received from interested contractors will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). National Acquisition Center (NAC), Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) is conducting market research to identify potential sources which manufacture a semi-automatic bottle opening system that can function as a stand-alone operation and/or an integrated operation. The system will be capable of printing drug specific labels (including barcode information) for the selected receiving containers or be integrated with the current replenishment production software and canister system. The system will be capable of opening HDPE bottles of various sizes and shapes (round, square, oval, or rectangular) ranging from ¾" up to 4-1/2" wide and 1- ¼" to 10" tall. The system will be capable of functioning with one operator at a rate of up to 600 bottles per hour. The system will provide an inspection area or conveyor where the opened bottle contents can be inspected and all foreign objects can be removed. The bottles will be opened in such a way as to eliminate the possibility of bottle residue falling into the opened bottle. The system shall provide HEPA filtration to mitigate potential dust generation. This potential requirement is for the CMOP facilities located in Tucson, AZ and Murfreesboro, TN. Offerors having the capabilities necessary to provide the above stated equipment are invited to respond to this Sources Sought Notice via e-mail to Kristine Hostetler at Kristine.Hostetler@va.gov no later than November 29, 2012. RESPONSES SHOULD INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION: company name, address, and size standard; point of contact name, phone number, and e-mail address; suggested equipment information including model and delivery schedule; whether system is presently offered on a current GSA Federal Supply Schedule contract. NAICS Code 333993 and Small Business Size Standard 500 employees are applicable to determine business size standard. Any questions or concerns may also be directed to Kristine Hostetler via e-mail.
