Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation or request for quotes and no contract or purchase order will be awarded from this notice. There is no solicitation, specifications or drawings available at this time. Military Sealift Command has a requirement for the USNS HOWARD O. LORENZEN (T-AGM 25) for a Voyage Repair (VR) availability that will be conducted on/about 28 Jan 2013 for 12 days. The HOWARD O. LORENZEN has a length of 162.8 m, a Beam of 27.0 m, a Draft of 6.51 m, and is 13199 metric tons. Work to be performed at Port Canaveral, FL at the Navy pier on AFS Cape Canaveral, on or about the above mentioned dates. Major work items will include: TV-DTS preventive maintenance, Relief Valves annual inspection, Vestibule decking replacement, O3 Level weather deck door maintenance, Annual crane inspection, Lifeboat annual service, Life raft annual service, Cargo elevator annual service, Rescue boat annual service, Tile repair, 500 sqft, Mission cooling system water meter calibration, De-ionizer water filter exchange, Galley and Laundry Vent cleaning. Estimated issue date of this solicitation is on/about 14 December 2012. After issuance, the solicitation may be obtained thru Federal Business Opportunity (FBO) website or the MSC 1102 Website. Any firms that believe they can meet these requirements should respond to this notice as described below. Indicate if your company is a large or small business, and if a small business, indicate if you fall within any of the further classifications (Hubzone, SDVOSB, WOSB, etc.). The Government will determine whether a set-aside acquisition in lieu of full and open competition is in the Government's best interest. The appropriate NAICS Code is 336611. It is requested that interested businesses submit to the contracting office a brief capabilities package demonstrating ability to provide the requested work. This document shall also address the following: Company Profile to include number of employees, office location(s), DUNS number, CAGE Code and a statement regarding small business designation and status. Submission of a capabilities statement is not a prerequisite to any potential future offerings, but participation will assist the Government in tailoring requirements to be consistent with industry. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE OR PROPOSAL. It is a market research tool used to determine the availability and adequacy of potential small business sources prior to issuance of an award. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this source sought notice. Please provide a response demonstrating your firm's experience in performing similar work. RESPONSES ARE DUE on Monday, 26 November 2012 by 2:00 PM Eastern Standard Time.
