Description

THIS IS A TOTAL 100% SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB) SET-ASIDE. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) Iowa intends to issue an Invitation For Bid (IFB) to award a single, firm fixed-price contract to provide all tools, materials, equipment and labor necessary for completion of general construction project 636A8-12-005, "Renovate 8 East for Endoscopy and Cardiology", at the Iowa City VA Medical Center, Iowa City, Iowa. This project will renovate approximately 9,380 sf of space at the Iowa City VA Health Care System. The renovated space will include five Endoscopy procedure rooms, Two Echo procedure rooms, patient prep/recovery, one Echo Steno, one Stress Test room, along with support space for both in accordance with the drawings and specifications.. Two ADA toilet rooms will be included. Work includes demolition, asbestos abatement, and alterations to walls, ceilings, roofs and floors, general construction, mechanical, electrical and plumbing work, controls, telecom, nurse call, modular furnishings and certain other items. Work will require at least 4 phases to complete, with project duration of 340 days from the notice to proceed. Specifications and Drawings for submitting a bid will be available at (http://www.fedbizopps.gov/). All respondents must be registered in the SAMS database (http://www.sam.gov) and complete online Representations and Certifications at (http://orca.bpn.gov), along with Vets 100 at (http://vets.dol.gov/vets100/). Bidders must be registered in VetBiz at (http://www.vetbiz.gov/). Amendments to the solicitation will be posted at (http://www.fedbizopps.gov/). All parties must obtain amendments to the solicitation through this web site. Hard copies will not be mailed. Interested parties must go to the web site to be entered on the Interested Vendors List and/or to obtain copies of the Interested Vendors List. All questions must be submitted in writing to the issuing office via email to (felecia.beamen@va.gov). Issue Date is scheduled for November 16, 2012. The Pre-bid meeting/Site-visit will be announced upon Solicitation issuance. Bid Opening Date is scheduled for December 18, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. (local time) at 1303 5th St. Suite 300, Coralville, Iowa 5224. The applicable NAICS Code is 236220, with the applicable size standard being $33.5 million.
