- Description
- This is a sources sought notice only. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. The Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center (NSRDEC) are issuing a source sought notice to identify potential sources within the greater Boston area / Boston Metrowest area / Boston-Worcester Metropolitan areas that can perform high-resolution imaging (e.g. MRI, CT or biplane fluoroscopy) of the lower limb. DESCRIPTION NSRDEC is interested in exploring the potential link between lower limb anatomy and biomechanical profiles during load carriage. To do so, we need to obtain high-resolution imaging of the lower limb, for between 12 and 20 participants, to integrate with our planned internal biomechanical human use research studies. We prefer scans of a loaded limb, but will also consider images an unloaded limb, as well. Our end goal is to integrate joint kinematic and kinetic data with anatomical indices obtained from high-resolution imagining of the leg in order to investigate how biomechanical profiles are potentially influenced by lower limb anatomy during load carriage. We plan to identify the anatomical indices ourselves and potential sources are only sought for collection of the high-resolution images. Period of Performance: 01 October 2013 - 30 September 2014. The imaging center shall provide services that include: 1. Collection of high-resolution images of the lower limb that must be obtained by a certified radiology technician. Images must include three dimensional scan of the knee joint; however, the ability to scan the ankle joint is also sought. Scans must take place Monday through Friday except on Holidays from 0730 to 1600. 2. Hard copies (i.e. DVD or CD) of all images, which must be provided to the NSRDEC POC within 5 business days following collection. 3. Technical development of imaging sequences prior to starting the study. 4. The imaging center must be located within a 30 mile radius of Natick, MA. Parameter Recommendation • Multiplanar magnetic resonance image obtained with 3.0 T scanner or • Three-dimensional computed tomography image or • Biplane fluoroscopy obtained with 30 cm image intensifiers RESPONSES All interested firms and manufacturers, regardless of size, are encouraged to respond to this request for information. Information submissions should include available technology, product literature, and relevant company background/experience. Available product pricing may also be provided as part of the information submission. Information submissions must be received by 31 DEC 2012. Responses to this notice should be directed to tyler.n.brown4.ctr@mail.mil. Responses should include information on their product(s) and how they might address the Military requirement. All information supplied will be considered confidential, unless otherwise specified by the firm or available from other sources without restriction. This sources sought is for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute an Invitation for Bid (IFB) or a Request for Proposal (RFP) and is not to be taken as a future commitment by NSRDEC. All respondents shall include all of the information listed below in the response email: 1. Company name and Solicitation number in the email subject line. 2. Company address, telephone number, primary contact(s) with e-mail address(es), NAICS code(s), business size (i.e., small/large/HUB Zone), CAGE code, and DUNS number. (Respondents must be registered in the SAM database in order to obtain a DUNS number. Firms may register with SAM at http://www.sam.gov.) 3. Product detailed descriptions and how it addresses our Military requirement. This can also include current or past performance of providing these products to the Government. 4. Estimated cost, minimum and maximum delivery schedule, and any anticipated discounts. 5. If applicable a GSA Schedule. 6. All assumptions, including any assumed Government support. Interested sources must reply no later than 31 DEC 2012. No telephonic submissions will be honored. All product information shall be submitted at no cost or obligation to the government.
